About the role
As an Operations Team Member at PlaceMakers Whangarei, you'll enjoy a varied, hands-on role primarily supporting our Yard & Drive Thru area. Your role will be key from the moment a customer walks through the door. From delivering tailored product advice to operating a forklift, loading and unloading vehicles, picking and packing orders, and ensuring stock levels are exactly where they need to be, you'll help keep our operations running smoothly and customers leave with what they need and creating an experience that keeps them coming back.
Engage with customers face to face recommending suitable products to suit their needs and preference
Pick, assemble, and process orders, transactions and returns
Supporting Inwards goods by accurately checking & receipting product deliveries
Load/unload customer vehicles, delivery vans, and supplier trucks
Monitor inventory levels, complete cycle counts and stock replenishment
Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards through general store housekeeping
Operate a Forklift
Permanent full-time role based at PlaceMakers Whangarei offering 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you'll have proven experience working in a similar customer facing role. You'll be safety focused, physically fit, and confident operating a forklift. Most importantly, you'll be a reliable team player who enjoys helping customers and supporting tradies to get what they need.
Previous experience in a similar customer-facing, trade retail or warehouse role
Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident using technology and navigating multiple system
Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting (25kgs) and manual handling tasks
Full NZ Class 1 Drivers’ Licence is Essential
Forklift experience with F endorsement is desirable
Knowledge of building products or the construction industry is advantageous
