Terms of use
Last updated 10 August 2026.
This site is operated by Jobs Unlimited (“we”). By using it you agree to what follows. If you don't, please don't use the site.
1. What this site is
We publish job listings from employers who have shown who they are, and pass applications to them. We are not the employer, we are not a recruitment agency, and we are not party to anything that happens between an employer and a candidate after we hand the application over.
2. Who may post a job
Posting is permissioned. An employer may post once they have either verified control of their organisation's domain name — by registering from an address at that domain, or by publishing a DNS record we specify — or paid for a listing.
You agree that a listing you post:
- is a real vacancy at the organisation named, that you are authorised to advertise;
- describes the role accurately, including where it is based and how it is worked;
- is not an advertisement for anything other than that vacancy;
- does not ask candidates to pay you for anything, and is not a scheme, a course, or a recruitment pitch dressed as a job;
- complies with New Zealand law, including the Human Rights Act 1993 — you may not discriminate on a prohibited ground.
3. Editing a listing after it goes live
You may edit a listing freely for the first 24 hours after publication. After that, and immediately once anyone has applied, the job title, category and region are locked. You can still update the description, salary and contact details.
This exists because a posting slot is for one vacancy. Rewriting a live listing into a different job is not an edit, it is a second posting, and it also misleads the people who have already applied to the first one.
4. Listings expire
Listings run for a fixed period and then expire automatically. An expired listing is removed from search, from our sitemap, and returns a “gone” response to search engines so it drops out of their results rather than lingering. We do this whether or not the role was filled.
5. Applying for a job
When you apply, we pass what you submit — including your CV — to that employer. We do not screen applications, and we cannot make an employer read one, reply to one, or treat it fairly. Nor can we recall an application once it has been sent.
Everything you submit must be true and yours to submit. Applying under someone else's identity, or with a CV that isn't yours, is a misuse of this site.
6. Employers' obligations to candidates
An employer who receives applications through this site agrees to:
- use the personal information in them only to consider that person for that role;
- not add applicants to a mailing list, sell their details, or pass them to anyone else;
- handle that information under the Privacy Act 2020, as its own agency, once we hand it over.
7. Paid services
Prices are shown on the pricing page in New Zealand dollars. Payment is taken at the time of purchase and the service starts immediately.
Because a listing goes live straight away, we don't offer a change-of-mind refund once it has published. If something we sold you doesn't work — a listing that never appeared, a featured upgrade that didn't apply — tell us and we will fix it or refund it. That sits alongside your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, which these terms do not limit.
8. Things you may not do
- Post anything false, misleading, or that you have no right to post.
- Scrape the site, or use automated means to collect listings or candidate details. We publish an API — use that.
- Try to get round the rate limits, the registration checks, or the posting permission model.
- Use contact details found here to send unsolicited marketing.
- Upload anything containing malware.
9. Suspension
We can remove a listing, or suspend an account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken. For anything other than an obvious scam or a security problem, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. Where we remove a paid listing for a breach, we don't refund it.
10. Your content
What you post stays yours. You give us permission to display it on this site and in the search-engine listings and alert emails that lead people to it — which is the point of posting it. That permission ends when the content comes down, except for copies held in backups or where the law requires us to keep them.
11. What we don't promise
We verify that an employer controls the domain they claim. That is a meaningful check and it is a much higher bar than most job boards apply, but it is not a guarantee of the employer's honesty, solvency, or conduct, and it does not make us responsible for them. Judge a listing on its merits.
We don't promise the site will be available without interruption or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous 12 months. Where you are a consumer under the Consumer Guarantees Act, nothing here limits rights you have under it.
12. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. It forms part of these terms.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If a change materially affects a paid service you have already bought, it won't apply to that purchase.
14. Law
New Zealand law governs these terms, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction.
