About the role

The role:
As a Sales Representative at Mico, you’ll play an integral part in proactively finding new business. This role will see you grow your ledger by growing your value and number of accounts. You will be part of a team of 10 reporting to our Regional Sales Manager.

This role can be based anywhere within Central Otago and involves regular travel throughout the region to visit existing and prospective customers. We're ideally looking for someone who is well connected within the local community, understand the Central Otago market, and has proven B2B sales experience.

You will be responsible for:

Ensure our key customers are receiving the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction
Identifying sales opportunities both in existing and new customers
Working shoulder to shoulder with our branches to grow our market share.
Ensuring regularity of contact so you can be ahead of the game
Collaborating with your colleagues and communicating with customers about stock availability, delivery times and pricing
Developing relationships within the community and promoting brand awareness

This is a permanent full-time role, offering 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate can be based anywhere across Central Otago and will travel regularly throughout the region.

About you:
With a proven Account Management/Sales rep background and a real passion for our industry. You will be a resilient, self-driven person who genuinely enjoys, and thrives on building strong credible working relationships.

To really understand our customers and to be successful in this role you will need to also demonstrate the following -

Passionate about building rapport and long-lasting customer relationships is an absolute must!
Proven experience in B2B sales, business development, or account management, with confidence in cold calling and prospecting
Strong local networks and connections within the Central Otago region would be highly advantageous
Knowledge of the plumbing or Building Industry is preferred, but not essential
A self-starter mindset with strong organisational and time management skills
Strong sales drive and resilience will be essential with a solutions-focused approach
Disciplined salesperson who thrives on development and expanding their client base
Excellent communication skills and highly motivated with exceptional work ethic
An out-going and community-minded person with a focus on long-term, credible relationships
A clean, full NZ Driver Licence
