As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced and motivated Electrical Project Managers to join our team.
About the Role
As an Electrical Project Manager, you will take ownership of projects from initial handover through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
You will oversee multiple projects, manage site teams, maintain strong client relationships and ensure each project achieves its financial and operational targets.
Our projects range from smaller commercial installations and fit-outs through to large-scale construction projects
This is primarily a management and coordination role rather than a hands-on electrical position.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
Manage multiple electrical projects from award through to practical completion.
Develop project programmes, labour budgets and material forecasts.
Coordinate labour, subcontractors, suppliers and site resources.
Monitor project progress against construction programmes.
Identify potential delays, risks and cost overruns early.
Attend site meetings and coordinate with main contractors and other trades.
Ensure all works meet relevant New Zealand standards and compliance requirements.
Financial & Commercial Management
Take responsibility for project profitability and budget performance.
Monitor labour hours, material expenditure and project costs.
Identify, price and manage variations.
Prepare monthly progress claims and supporting documentation.
Ensure purchase orders, labour allocation and material costs are accurately Recorded.
Review project performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
Team Leadership
Oversee Site Managers, Lead Electricians, Electricians, Apprentices and Labourers.
Set clear expectations around productivity, quality and deadlines.
Support site teams with technical and operational decisions.
Maintain accountability across project teams.
Encourage a positive, professional and high-performing team culture.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and main contractors.
Provide regular project updates and communicate proactively.
Resolve project challenges professionally and efficiently.
Identify opportunities for repeat business and future projects.
Represent Circit professionally in meetings and on-site.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant electrical standards, specifications and regulations.
Maintain compliance with health and safety requirements.
Oversee quality assurance, inspections and testing.
Coordinate completion documentation, including Certificates of Compliance, as-built drawings and handover records.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Proven experience managing electrical or building services projects.
Strong understanding of commercial electrical installations and construction processes.
Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills.
Ability to manage project budgets, labour and materials.
Experience managing teams and subcontractors.
Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
Full New Zealand driver's licence.
Preferred
New Zealand electrical registration (EWRB).
Experience with commercial construction projects.
Experience using project management or job management software.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Established relationships within the construction industry.
