Tā mātou arawātea | Our Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced people leader to lead the maintenance team at our Mōkai geothermal power station.

Mōkai is jointly owned by Tūaropaki Trust and Mercury and has been generating renewable electricity since 2000. The station has expanded over time and is now a significant geothermal operation, with 10 binary turbines and two steam turbines. The geothermal resource also supports Tūaropaki’s wider operations, including milk powder production and temperature-controlled horticulture. This creates a varied operating environment where strong relationships, sound judgement and clear communication are essential.

Reporting to the Site Lead, you’ll lead a multi-disciplinary team of four Maintenance Technicians to ensure that the execution of our maintenance is completed to the highest standard. Your focus will be building a trusted, capable and high-performing team that safely delivers maintenance to ensure reliable generation while meeting customer, market and stakeholder requirements. This is a Monday to Friday position, working approximately 7.30am to 4.00pm.

Leading, coaching and developing a team of four Maintenance Technicians

Maximise site maintenance effectiveness, assist in project delivery and manage and implement improvement plans

Mentor the team on maintenance best practices

Manage maintenance costs to agreed and approved budgets and approve maintenance spend and associated purchase orders

Tā mātou e kimi nei | We are looking for:

Relevant industry experience leading a team of trade/technician staff

Proven ability to inspire and lead a team to deliver results

Plant operations, process control or maintenance experience in heavy industry

Strong knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - Maximo

Proficient in maintenance planning and scheduling
