We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead and evolve the FP&A function supporting PlaceMakers.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a senior, hands-on leadership role with real opportunity to make an impact. You’ll lead a team of finance business partners, gain detailed knowledge of the entire business from frame & truss manufacturing, supply chain, our branches through to our customers, helping to tell the story to our stakeholders on our strategic direction while strengthening our planning and forecasting capability and associated actionable insights.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of FP&A across NZ Distribution, including:

Owning and developing our financial strategic planning models, including supporting scenario planning, long-term planning, capital investment decisions and business cases
Assist the CFO in developing Executive, Group and Board level presentations that clearly articulate our story, be it budgets, strategic updates or monthly reporting
Owning the budgeting and rolling forecast processes, including the completion and bedding in of the new rolling 12–18-month forecast and TM1 forecasting system
Evolving daily, weekly and monthly reporting to focus on the measures that matter most
Providing clear commercial insights and constructive challenge to support better business decisions, including driving initiatives with the senior leadership team arising from forecasting or planning processes
Building financial capability and strong working relationships across Finance and the wider business
Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team of finance business partners

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Auckland.

What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced FP&A finance leader who can focus on both the detail and the big picture. You’ll be comfortable working in a multi-faceted and fast-paced commercial environment, knowing how to turn complex financial information into practical advice that leaders can act on.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

CAANZ membership or an equivalent professional qualification such as CPA or ACCA
At least eight years’ experience in financial planning or corporate finance roles, preferably across multi-disciplinary industry backgrounds – manufacturing, business to business, supply chain or distribution businesses
Proven experience leading and developing finance teams through change
Strong commercial acumen and business-partnering capability, delivering to tight deadlines under pressure
Advanced financial modelling, presentation, analysis and reporting skills
Experience with financial systems and reporting tools such as TM1, SAP and Power BI, with Claude or similar AI experience preferred
A track record of improving processes, reporting and ways of working
The confidence and maturity to influence senior stakeholders and respectfully challenge thinking
A collaborative, practical and delivery-focused leadership style
