We have exciting opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join our team. This is an important role supporting high-profile regulatory delivery across the lending data space. You will help delivery squads uncover business and data requirements, surface blockers and dependencies, and enable clear decisions so critical regulatory outcomes can be delivered with confidence.

This is a full time, 2 year fixed term opportunity based in Auckland. It is a hybrid role with three days in the office and two days where you can work flexibly.

What are some of the day-to-day tasks the person in this tūranga will complete?

You’ll be a valued member of high-profile regulatory delivery squads across the lending data space where you will be:

uncovering requirements, blockers, dependencies and decision points.

analysing lending data, business rules, controls and reporting requirements to support regulatory delivery outcomes.

translating complex business and data analysis into clear actions that delivery teams can execute against.

supporting impact assessment, traceability, reconciliation and readiness activities to give confidence in regulatory data outputs.

Working across business, data, technology and delivery teams to align stakeholders, clarify scope and keep critical deliverables moving.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

This is an opportunity to work on high-profile regulatory delivery where the quality, completeness and clarity of data directly supports BNZ’s ability to meet important regulatory obligations. You will have broad enterprise visibility and play a key role in helping squads turn complex requirements into practical delivery outcomes.

What is the most challenging thing about this opportunity?

The most challenging part of this role will be navigating complex lending data, regulatory requirements, business rules and cross-team dependencies while bringing clarity to what needs to be delivered. Success will require strong analysis, dependency management, stakeholder alignment, and the ability to identify risks, gaps and decisions early so regulatory delivery can stay on track.

What will success look like for the candidate in this role?

Success will mean you have enabled regulatory delivery squads clarify requirements, resolve blockers, align stakeholders and deliver trusted lending data outcomes that support BNZ’s regulatory obligations. What skills / technical skills are required for this position?

3–7 years’ business analysis experience, ideally across digital, process or platform change.

Strong visual and structured modelling skills, with the ability to communicate complexity simply.

Experience shaping backlogs and partnering with technology delivery teams.

Experience using Jira and Confluence to manage user stories, requirements, delivery artefacts and backlogs within an Agile delivery environment.
