As we continue to expand, we're looking for experienced, motivated and reliable Electrical Site Managers to join our team.
About the Role
As an Electrical Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and delivery of electrical installations across commercial construction projects.
You will lead site teams, coordinate materials and labour, manage construction programmes and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
You'll work closely with our Project Managers while taking ownership of your assigned sites and ensuring projects run smoothly from establishment through to completion.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced electrician who enjoys managing people, solving problems and taking responsibility for delivering successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
Site Management & Project Delivery
Manage daily electrical operations across assigned construction sites.
Coordinate electrical installations in accordance with project drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
Plan and allocate labour to ensure work is completed efficiently.
Monitor site progress against project milestones and deadlines.
Identify and resolve site issues before they affect project delivery.
Coordinate with main contractors, subcontractors and other trades.
Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates to Project Managers.
Ensure materials, equipment and resources are available when required.
Labour, Materials & Cost Control
Manage allocated labour hours and material budgets.
Monitor productivity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Coordinate material orders and minimise unnecessary expenditure and astage.
Identify variations and communicate additional works to the Project Manager.
Prepare variation details, including labour, materials and marked-up drawings.
Maintain accurate records of labour, materials and project progress.
Assist with project forecasting and cost management.
Team Leadership
Supervise Lead Electricians, Electricians, Apprentices and Labourers.
Allocate daily tasks and establish clear expectations.
Provide technical guidance and support to site teams.
Monitor workmanship, productivity and team performance.
Support the training and development of apprentices.
Maintain a positive, professional and accountable site culture.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure electrical installations comply with applicable New Zealand standards and regulations.
Maintain safe working practices and site health and safety requirements.
Conduct quality checks throughout the installation process.
Identify and rectify defects before project handover.
Coordinate testing, inspections and compliance documentation.
Assist with as-built drawings, Certificates of Compliance and project handover requirements.
Communication & Client Relationships
Maintain professional relationships with main contractors, clients and other trades.
Communicate project progress, delays and site requirements clearly.
Represent Circit professionally on-site.
Work closely with Project Managers to resolve technical and commercial challenges.
Ensure client expectations are managed and projects are delivered to a high standard.
What We're Looking For
Essential
New Zealand registered electrician with relevant electrical industry experience.
Proven experience supervising electrical installations or construction teams.
Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems and installation practices.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and construction programmes.
Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills.
Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements.
Ability to manage labour, materials and project deadlines.
Full New Zealand driver's licence.
Preferred
Previous experience as an Electrical Site Manager, Foreman or Leading Hand.
Experience managing commercial construction projects.
Ability to identify, document and assist with pricing variations.
Experience with project budgets, labour forecasting and material ordering.
Experience using job management or project management software.
