We are looking for a practical and people-focused Mechanical Team Leader to lead our maintenance team at our Tauriko plant – a high-volume, safety led manufacturing environment where teamwork and reliability matter.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll provide frontline leadership to our Mechanical maintenance trades team, ensuring preventative, planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard across the site. This is a hands-on leadership role, with approximately 50% of your time spent on the tools and 50% coordinating work, supporting the team and driving plant reliability. You'll play a key role in prioritising maintenance activities, improving equipment performance and fostering a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.
About You
Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or relevant trade background.
Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial or heavy plant environment.
Proven leadership experience or ready to take the next step into a Team Leader role.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to remain calm under pressure.
Able to prioritise work, coordinate resources and manage competing demands.
A collaborative leader with effective communication skills and who can build strong relationships.
Committed to maintaining high safety standards and leading by example.
Experienced MEX (CMMS) user and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
