About the role

At PlaceMakers, we've been helping Kiwi builders get the job done for generations. Our Know How. Can Do. attitude is at the heart of everything we do, and our Auckland Frame & Truss team plays a vital role in delivering quality products that help build homes and commercial projects across New Zealand.

We're looking for a Manufacturing Operator to join our team, someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and thrives in a team environment.

The Role
This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you'll be building frames and trusses safely, accurately, and efficiently to keep our customers' projects moving. You'll work as part of a close-knit team, operating tools and machinery, reading plans and measurements, and ensuring products are built right first time.

Whether you're experienced in manufacturing, construction, or looking to start a career in the building industry, we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.

Your day-to-day will include:

Manufacturing frames and trusses to specification
Operating tools and machinery safely and efficiently
Reading plans and measurements accurately
Maintaining high-quality standards and minimising rework
Keeping work areas clean, organised, and safe
Supporting stock control and material management
Working collaboratively to achieve production targets
Contributing to a strong health and safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives

This is a permanent full-time working 40 hours per week, role based at PlaceMakers Auckland Frame & Truss.

About You
You're reliable, hardworking, and enjoy being part of a team that takes pride in delivering quality outcomes.

You'll ideally bring:

Experience in manufacturing, production, construction, or a similar hands-on environment
A strong focus on quality and attention to detail
Confidence working with measurements, plans, and tools
Good physical fitness and willingness to perform manual tasks
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
A commitment to workplace health and safety
The ability to work well within a team environment

Previous Frame & Truss experience is advantageous, but not essential. If you've got the right attitude and willingness to learn, we'll provide training to help you develop your skills.

Our Benefits:

Competitive base salary
Staff-buying privileges and genuine development opportunities that come with being part of the wider Fletcher Building Group
Employment Education Fund
Health & Wellbeing initiatives including an Employee Assistance Programme
