Great maintenance execution starts well before the tools come out. In this role, you’ll make sure our electrical and instrumentation maintenance teams have clear, practical and well-prepared plans to complete work safely and effectively across Mercury’s generation assets.
You’ll take identified maintenance requirements and turn them into execution-ready work packages. This includes defining the scope, estimating labour and equipment downtime, identifying materials, tooling and specialist skills, and developing logically sequenced work instructions.
Working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering and procurement teams, you’ll ensure the right information and resources are available before work begins. You’ll also help improve the quality of our maintenance plans and asset information in Maximo, building repeatable plans that support consistent delivery, stronger asset reliability and the effective use of resources.
This is a practical, site-based opportunity for someone who understands electrical and instrumentation maintenance and knows what good planning looks like. The role can accommodate candidates based in the Taupō or Rotorua regions.
Tāu e mahi ai | What you’ll be doing
Developing detailed maintenance work packages that can be completed safely and efficiently
Defining work scope, labour requirements, equipment downtime, materials, tooling and specialist resource needs
Preparing clear work instructions that address relevant health, safety and environmental risks
Bringing together procedures, drawings, OEM information, inspection and test plans, photos, standards and checklists
Providing accurate planning inputs to support effective maintenance scheduling
Working across maintenance, operations, engineering and procurement to resolve planning requirements
Improving maintenance plans and asset information in Maximo
Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset management strategies and maintenance performance

You’ll bring practical knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation maintenance, along with the ability to turn a maintenance requirement into a clear, well-scoped and executable job.
We’re particularly interested in your:
Relevant electrical, instrumentation or maintenance trade qualification, or equivalent maintenance engineering experience
Experience within an industrial maintenance or engineering environment
Practical understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling and work management
Experience using a computerised maintenance management system
Ability to develop clear and accurate work scopes and instructions
Strong communication skills and confidence working across technical and operational teams
Organised and methodical approach, with good attention to detail
Experience using Maximo or working within electricity generation or another complex, asset-intensive environment would be an advantage.
