About the Role:
We are looking for a Finance Partner – Store Accounting & Commissions to join the Finance Delivery Centre. This role suits an enthusiastic, self-motivated problem solver who can navigate complex systems and turn large volumes of financial and commission data into clear insights and actions. Working within an Agile team of finance and data experts, you will support Consumer, Enterprise & Government and frontline sales channels. Your primary focus will be delivering accurate and timely internal commissions, alongside supporting store accounting activities.
WHO YOU REPORT TO
You report to the Chapter Lead – Store Accounting and Commissions in the Finance Delivery Centre team.
WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Based in Auckland, you will work in a cross-functional team supporting Spark’s Consumer and Enterprise & Government sales channels. You will lead the delivery of internal commissions while contributing to accurate store accounting, effective financial controls, responsive stakeholder support and continuous improvement.
Internal Commissions – Primary Responsibility
Own the end-to-end monthly delivery of internal commissions for frontline representatives, Store Leads, Regional Sales Leads and other eligible Consumer and Enterprise & Government sales teams through the SID commission system.
Coordinate the monthly commission timetable, approval process, payment cross-checks, payroll file preparation, payroll validation and submission of approved commission payments by the required deadline.
·        Manage commission queries and disputes through the Incentive Inbox and stakeholder channels, investigate root causes, explain outcomes and coordinate corrections.
·        Complete month-end commission reporting, reconciliations, journals, accruals, forecasts and variance analysis, clearly explaining financial movements and impacts.
·        Provide commission insights, KPI reporting and decision support to Consumer and Enterprise & Government leaders, Finance Partners, Sales Operations and Performance Insights.
·        Translate approved Sales Incentive Plan changes into operational requirements, system setup, communications, testing and controlled implementation.
·        Partner with Data Engineering and technology teams to improve commission accuracy and efficiency through SQL, Power BI, automation, data quality, system testing and SID enhancements.
·        Maintain commission controls, approvals, documentation, audit compliance and remuneration confidentiality.
Store Accounting and Channel Finance Support
·        Deliver accurate, timely retail store month-end accounting, reporting, forecasting and analysis.
Complete and review monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations, investigate variances and coordinate timely resolution of outstanding items.
·        Partner with Store Operations, Mass Market Retail Operations and Finance to resolve accounting issues, strengthen controls and provide financial support.

·        Support audits, compliance, channel-finance investigations, analysis and continuous improvement.
WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED
A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting; CA qualification or working towards CA would be advantageous.
Experience in commissions, incentive remuneration, payroll-related calculations, financial accounting, management reporting or another complex high-volume finance process.
Strong Excel capability, with confidence working across large data sets, commission calculations, reconciliations and detailed financial analysis.
Experience using commission, finance and data systems such as  Xero, D365, Power BI, Power Automate and SQL would be advantageous.
A strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to trace data across systems, investigate exceptions, identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
A disciplined control mindset and strong attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate outcomes within fixed monthly payroll and finance deadlines.
Confidence working with complex incentive schemes, accounting processes, systems and data while managing competing priorities and making sound decisions.
A continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to document processes, test system and scheme changes, automate manual tasks and simplify information flows across teams.
Positive, proactive and accountable, with strong relationship-management and communication skills and the ability to explain complex commission and financial outcomes in simple language.
