About the Role
As a Qualified Electrician at Circit, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical installations across a range of commercial construction, fit-out and maintenance projects.
You'll work alongside experienced Site Managers and Project Managers, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and efficiency.
We're looking for electricians who can work independently, take ownership of their tasks and contribute positively to the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
Carry out electrical installations across commercial construction and fit-out projects.
Install cable containment, wiring systems, switchboards, lighting, power and associated electrical equipment.
Interpret electrical drawings, specifications and installation requirements.
Complete testing, fault-finding, maintenance and electrical repairs.
Ensure installations are completed to a high standard and within allocated timeframes.
Identify potential installation issues and communicate them promptly.
Assist with commissioning, inspections and project handover requirements.
Productivity & Project Delivery
Complete allocated tasks efficiently and within assigned labour allowances.
Coordinate with Site Managers to ensure work progresses in line with onstruction programmes.
Use materials responsibly and minimise unnecessary wastage.
Identify additional works or variations and report them before proceeding.
Maintain accurate records of labour, materials and completed works.
Take responsibility for the quality and completion of assigned tasks.
Teamwork & Leadership
Work collaboratively with Site Managers, Project Managers and other trades.
Assist with supervising and mentoring apprentices when required.
Communicate clearly regarding site progress, materials and potential delays.
Maintain a professional and positive attitude on-site.
Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to take on additional responsibility.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Carry out electrical work in accordance with applicable New Zealand electrical standards and regulations.
Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
Follow company and site-specific health and safety procedures.
Complete required testing and electrical compliance documentation within the scope of your authorisation.
Identify and report hazards, defects and unsafe working conditions.
Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in good condition.
What We're Looking For
Essential
New Zealand electrical registration and a current practising licence.
Experience in commercial electrical installations or relevant electrical work.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 and applicable New Zealand electrical regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
Reliable, organised and motivated.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Full New Zealand driver's licence.
Preferred
Experience in commercial construction and fit-outs.
Experience with switchboards, lighting controls, data or building services.
Experience mentoring or supervising apprentices.
Experience with testing, commissioning and fault-finding.
Interest in progressing into a Lead Electrician or Site Manager position.
