About the role

We are looking for an experienced Driver Class 5 / Heavy Maintenance Operator to join our team in Napier. This role involves operating heavy trucks, plant, and machinery to support our projects and ensure materials and equipment are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll be part of a hardworking crew that values safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Class 5 trucks, plant, and machinery safely and efficiently
Complete deliveries and project work to specification and industry best practice
Follow job instructions, work plans, and company procedures
Carry out daily pre start checks and report maintenance needs
Maintain logbooks, paperwork, and service records
Support the crew and contribute to a positive team culture
Interact professionally with clients, subcontractors, and the public
Assist with manual labour when required
Ensure all plant and equipment is secure when not in use

What We’re Looking For:

Class 5 Licence and WTR endorsement (essential)
Solid experience operating heavy trucks, plant, and machinery
Prior experience transporting plant, product and asphalt will be ideal.
Dangerous Goods endorsement (bonus)
Background in civil construction or road maintenance
Ability to follow instructions, plans, and schedules
Good communication skills
Commitment to safety and teamwork
Site Safe Passport (or willingness to obtain)
