We are looking for an experienced Contract Engineer to join our WDC contract based in Ngāruawāhia.

As a Contract Engineer, you are responsible for planning and delivery relating to the safe, efficient and productive delivery of works, including being a role model to a team. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for a variety of jobs throughout the Waikato. On a day-to-day basis the work involves working closely with operational teams and being accountable for the day to day running of road maintenance works. Managing documentation required for quality requirements and ensuring administration is completed accurately and within required time frames. Scheduling works, procurement and management of subcontractors, providing technical expertise as needed.

In addition to the above you will have: 

  • Experience within the New Zealand roading industry in civil engineering.

  • Tertiary level qualification preferably in Civil Engineering or equivalent with proven working experience.

  • Proven experience in road maintenance, construction and/ or utilities maintenance contract.

  • Beneficial but not required STMS Cat A/B/C NP qualification with a strong understanding of CoPTTM.

  • Highly motivated and driven as you will be part of a large, enthusiastic collaborative team.

  • Experience working with engineering consultants and contractors.

  • Comfortable with specification review and interpretation.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage long lasting relationships with the team, clients and stakeholders.
