We are looking for an experienced Cyclic Operator to join our WDC contract based in Ngāruawāhia.

In this role, you’ll see yourself responsible for a variety of jobs throughout the Waikato. On a day-to-day basis the work involves coordinating with the operations manager to deliver quality service to all our clients and stakeholders. Leading our cyclic team members, daily routine inspections, operating/labouring and minor maintenance repairs on the road network. These include basic road repairs, potholes, edge break, minor guardrail repairs, sweeping, edge marker posts, roadside rubbish, road signs, culvert cleaning, and emergency response.

In addition to the above you will: 

  • Hold a full Class 2 licence minimum.

  • Have previous maintenance and leadership experience.

  • Ideally have previous pavement and traffic services maintenance experience.

  • Be physically fit and able due to the manual labour element of this role.

  • Hold STMS qualifications - preferred not essential.

  • Be flexible and available to assist with after-hours callouts on a rostered basis.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills and a positive attitude.

  • Be a team player, self-motivated and take pride in your work.

  • Show ability to mentor more junior staff you walk alongside.

  • Have passion and commitment to safety in the workplace.
