Team Global Express NZ delivers freight forwarding, end-to-end transport services, and comprehensive logistics solutions to customers operating across New Zealand from Kaitaia to Invercargill.

Due to internal movement, we have an exciting opportunity for a Leading Freight Operator to join our Christchurch team. You must be available to work the night shift, 2.00pm – 10.00pm.

About the role - Mō te tūranga

You will be an important part of our team ensuring the timely, efficient, and safe handling of freight for the company to achieve their target delivery goals, on time and damage free.

The right candidate will be a friendly, energetic, and positive team player with a customer focused attitude and a reliable work ethic.

Additional key duties:

• Load and unload all freight safely and securely, for both road and rail units.
• Achieve branch operational objectives by using On-time to scan freight efficiently.
• Ensure all equipment is operated in a safe and proficient manner.
• Maintain good working relationships.
• Communicate effectively within a team environment

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player with a positive attitude who is willing to change across duties as needed.

Additionally, you will need:

• Class 1 Drivers license
• A strong health and safety focus
• OSH approved forklift certificate
• Prior long fork experience (preferred but not essential)
• An understanding of dangerous goods laws (preferred but not essential)
• Prior work experience in the freight industry (preferred but not essential)
