Operating in 20 locations throughout Aotearoa, CAYAD teams are embedded within government, iwi, and community-based organisations. In Tāmaki Makaurau, CAYAD is part of the Community Impact Unit within the Community Wellbeing Department at Auckland Council, leveraging local government to advance harm reduction efforts. CAYAD is funded by Te Whatu Ora.

We are seeking an Advisor to deliver the Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland work programme in collaboration with community, government, and voluntary groups. You will implement impactful projects, establish and sustain effective networks, and facilitate partnerships to achieve strategic outcomes.

He kōrero mōu: About you

Having proven experience with tikanga Māori and understanding of Te Ao Māori would be an advantage and you will have public health and/or community development experience, an interest in youth development, and be motivated to work with communities to design and deliver solutions. You will be comfortable providing advice and influencing at all levels, and at ease with community and institutional stakeholders.

If you are keen to apply your empathetic approach in a dynamic team environment, then this role should be of interest to you.

Ideally you will have a full NZ driver’s licence or can travel independently across the region. You will also have to self-manage a working week to include attending community events outside of traditional working hours.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

You will be working in a stimulating environment as part of a passionate team committed to reducing harm and increasing health and wellbeing. There is a lot of ongoing professional development, and connections to the national CAYAD programme funded by Te Whatu Ora, as well as an emphasis on workplace wellbeing and flexible working opportunities.
