Job Description

Do yourself a power of good
Want to work somewhere where you are doing good for Auckland communities and yourself at the same time?

Whatever your role at Vector, we’ll stretch you to find solutions for some of the world’s biggest challenges. And they don’t get much bigger than readying our electricity network for a new energy future and a world of EV’s and home solar generation, to help mitigate the impacts of climate change.

If you are a line mechanic or cable jointer and want to do yourself a power of good, think about a role at Vector.

About the role
As Delivery Assessor, you’ll assess and audit the performance, work practices, and technical competencies of Vector’s field service providers (FSPs) to ensure they meet the required standards for quality, safety, environmental acceptability, and consistency.

The Delivery Assessor will also take the role of technical lead during investigations, workplace audits and critical incident reviews and assist with the development, implementation and delivery of Vector’s warranting system, input into process and standard setting/review and other advice of a technical nature where required.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being out in the field as opposed to being desk-based – you’ll spend more than 90% of your time out on site involved with our FSPs. You’ll also get the job satisfaction that comes with knowing you’re making our network more reliable and easier to build and maintain on a daily basis.

Who we are looking for

You’ll have the following experience and attributes:

  • Experience as a line mechanic or cable jointer, with level 4 National Certificate in Electricity Supply
  • Experience overseeing a quality assurance system in an infrastructure industry, including documenting processes
  • The ability to coach/mentor others, and to exercise influence with them
  • Experience drafting investigative plans, gathering evidence, interviewing and preparing quality detailed reports
  • A health and safety background is advantageous, but we’ll support NEBOSH certification for the successful candidate.

What we can offer you
Whether it’s the opportunity to do meaningful mahi and build a legacy for Auckland and New Zealand, to work in an innovative and transformative sector, or our commitment to supporting your development, there’s a myriad of reasons to choose a career with Vector.
