Job Description
In this full-time permanent role, the Project Director of Major Projects will lead and drive successful delivery of major projects across Aotearoa New Zealand. This role is to be based in our Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland CBD office, with regional/national travel as required to suit project requirements. Projects span multiple sectors, such as Health, Data Centres, Stadia, Hotels, and others.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Leading and managing large-scale projects as the key client interface.
- Developing working relationships, problem solving, and driving projects to successful completion.
- Managing the design process to achieve the client's requirements and manage expectations.
- Reviewing project plans and specifications, scheduling, costs saving measures, discrepancies, potential construction problems, etc.
- Managing project safety and environmental requirements.
- Managing project timelines, risks and reporting.
- Managing project budgets and advising on options to keep budget on track.
- Direct line management team responsibilities.
- Travel to client offices, as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in your application, we are looking for somebody who has:
- Full working rights for Aotearoa New Zealand.
- A recognised degree relating to a technical field: Engineering, Construction Management or Project Management.
- 20+ years of industry experience working on and successfully delivering major projects, specifically within Health.
- A mix of domestic and international experience is preferable.
- The ability to thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft skills (essential), and Primavera skills will be highly regarded.
- The technical ability to lead and manage complex projects and programs as the key client interface.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English with excellent report and bid writing skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.
- A passion for delivering to your clients.
