As one of Hato Hone St John's HR Advisors, your role extends beyond the conventional scope of an HR Advisor working across a large complex organisation. In this interesting and impactful role you'll be part of our HR Business Partnering team, providing expert advice on a range of people-related matters for the Ambulance Operations portfolio.
We're not just looking for an HR professional, but someone who can become a trusted advisor navigating the complexities of employment relations and building strong relationships within the organisation.
- Build and maintain relationships of credibility with colleagues and people leaders, acting on an informed understanding of the business and the external environment.
- Support and drive the development of engaged and consistently high-performing teams, coaching & supporting managers to implement best practice interventions, from volunteer/paid staff induction though to exit.
- Advise, coach and support managers to ensure the effective and timely management of poor performance, misconduct and general employment relationship matters in order to achieve fair and sustainable outcomes and build manager confidence and capability.
- Work collaboratively with the HR Business Partners to provide a professional approach to organisational change management that is driven and supported from informed HR perspectives.
- Work with colleagues and the Senior Leadership Team to build and enhance organisational culture and engagement.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Experience in an HR Advisor role, preferably gained within a large and diverse organisation
• Proven ability with issues management and employment relations
• A solid understanding of NZ employment law and current HR 'best practice'
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build strong credible relationships
• The ability to think critically and use initiative
