We are so excited to be adding an Auckland-based Human Resources Business Partner to our Pushpay People & Culture team! This is your chance to be the go-to HR expert for New Zealand, working alongside our SVP of HR (right here in Auckland!) and partnering with our fantastic US-based People Team. You’ll have end-to-end ownership of HR in NZ while being part of a truly global team.

We’ll tell you a bit about us and what we’re looking for—if this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

A Little About Us

Founded in New Zealand in 2011, Pushpay is one of the country’s most successful tech companies. We’re a SaaS (software as a service) business, connecting organizations and communities through innovative online giving and app technology. We’re a leading provider of technology solutions for churches, schools, and non-profits—helping them thrive and stay connected.

Our Auckland office is a hub of innovation and collaboration, where we balance great work with a fun and inclusive atmosphere. Of our 500+ global employees, 100 work from Auckland, primarily in software engineering, product, UX, and finance.

Meet the People & Culture Team

We’re a tight-knit, highly engaged, and collaborative crew, known for our positivity and passion for what we do. With 10 team members globally, we partner closely with each other and with the business units we support.

About The Role

This is a true generalist role where you’ll own end-to-end HR for New Zealand while being part of a global HR team. Expect a mix of strategic planning, employee relations, culture-building, hands-on HR work, and global project collaboration. You’ll:

  • Be the go-to HR expert in New Zealand by:
    • Advising managers and employees on everything from performance coaching and management to leadership development.
    • Ensuring compliance with NZ employment law, including developing and rolling out HR policies.
    • Supporting local recruitment processes, including scheduling, interviewing, and assisting with high-volume hiring periods alongside our US-based recruiters.
    • Partnering to lead onboarding and offboarding to create a seamless employee experience.
  • Be a key member of our global HR team by:
    • Owning and managing several global People Team software tools.
    • Partnering with our US HR team to align global people strategies with local needs.
  • Be a key local presence by:
    • Championing workplace culture to keep our Auckland office an amazing place to work.
    • Leading HR initiatives that drive engagement, retention, and professional growth.
    • Partnering with our Site Operations Coordinator on site strategy, large events, and twice-yearly board meetings—jumping in to support when needed.
    • Being the face of HR in Auckland—whether it’s rolling out engagement programs, supporting leaders or ensuring employees have what they need to do their best work.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 4 years experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • Experience in a fast-paced tech or private equity environment? Even better!
  • A true generalist mindset—comfortable wearing all the HR hats with experience to match.
  • Experience with Google Suite (gmail, sheets, docs, and slides) and using a macbook, or a willingness and the ability to learn both.
  • Excellent understanding of New Zealand employment law and HR best practices, with local experience preferred.
  • An adaptable coach and trusted advisor who can influence at all levels.
  • A hands-on approach and a get-it-done way of thinking.

Why You’ll Love It Here
