The Ohakea Program Manager will demonstrate achievement in a highly dynamic government setting. 

Your organisational communication, and leadership skills will need to be extraordinary along with the ability to understand the structures that push innovative boundaries. As Ohakea Program Manager you will work closely with the Senior Director Sustainment Programs to strategise, develop, execute and embed long-term plans that usher in new levels of productivity and success into the Ohakea Program.


Description/Tasks:
  • Awareness and compliance with company policy concerning human resource management including equal opportunity and workplace gender equality. 
  • Ensuring that the highest standard of customer service is always maintained whilst achieving the highest compliance with statutory regulations and company procedures. 
  • Overseeing responses to internal and external audits and ensuring definitive action to develop and implement remedial and corrective actions against audit findings and corrective action requests. 
  • Providing input into the development and revisions of company procedures for continuous improvement aligned to company policy and procedures. 
  • The development and implementation of practices and procedures within the Program aligned to the Company’s practices and procedures to support Jet Aviation Defence APAC to become supplier and employer of choice. 
  • General Management/Leadership of Ohakea Operations providing clear direction and decisions for activities conducted at the facilities, aligned to customer, financial, contractual, regulatory and compliance requirements. 
  • In collaboration with the Senior Director Sustainment Programs, Vice President Defence APAC and other stakeholder as required, engage subject matter experts to drive business unit performance clarifying objectives, accountabilities, performance scope and criteria. 
  • Accountable for RNZDF Ohakea Program contract oversight. 
  • Financial responsibility for the Ohakea Program budget, including achievement of budget performance targets. 
  • Accountable for the contract management of the Ohakea Contract(s) and sub-contracts, including leasing arrangements. 
  • Provide Ohakea Program focal point for primary customer (including NZDF and RNZAF), suppliers and internal Jet Aviation stakeholders.
  • Accountable for the achievement of Ohakea contract evolution, as provided under commercial arrangements. 
  • Active participation and compliance with Jet Aviation WHS and Environment programs and 
  • Aviation Safety Management Systems. 
  • Communication, implementation, and champion of agreed organisational initiatives covering but not limited to culture, quality and safety, financial and/or legal/statutory within Ohakea Program. 
  • Management of program risks across the Ohakea Operations. 
  • General management and leadership of Ohakea Operations providing clear, decisive direction and decision making for activities conducted at the facilities, aligned to customer, financial, contractual, business, regulatory and compliance requirements. 
  • Regulatory responsibilities as Accountable Manager for all regulatory approvals held by the organisation.
  • Lead, guide, support and educate direct reports and indirect reports in line with business demands and outputs as appropriate.
  •  Understand other duties as may be requested to support operational and overall business success.

Qualification/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business and/or equivalent level qualifications in related fields. 
  • 5+ years in senior aviation (commercial, paramilitary or defence) leadership positions, with similar/like responsibility and accountability across: 
  • Financially responsible and balanced budget management. 
  • Successful project management approach to drive outcomes that deliver customer and business success – are on time and within budget. 
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills aligned to delivering enterprise success. 
  • Highly engaging internal and external stakeholder engagement. 
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee leadership and engagement. 
  • Proven ability to plan, project and manage operational process for maximum efficient and productivity.
  • Ability to streamline and implement solutions to create speed, efficiency and support rapidly shifting business demands. 
  • Strong working knowledge of industry (Civil and Defence) regulations and legislative guidelines. Experienced People Leader
