The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader who fosters a collaborative and high-performing environment for their team, to join ELA and ensure exceptional student experiences are delivered for our international students. Leverage your experience in a student-facing managerial role within a university or educational setting, along with your knowledge of the Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice.
You will oversee student support services, campus facilities and the Student Experience team to ensure they operate at a high standard that upholds ELA’s international reputation. This includes oversight of day-to-day financial operations related to Student Experience and Campus. Previous experience with the coordination of homestay accommodation and support of international student is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the provision of accommodation, student support, and wellbeing.
- Oversee campus facilities, maintenance, and cleaning, to ensure a well-managed learning and working environment.
- Ensure ELA Student welfare requirements for their health and safety during their stay in New Zealand are complied with.
- Manage and control expenditure within the agreed budget, ensuring effective resource use.
- Develop the Student Experience team's capabilities and culture for optimal performance.
- Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and direction to the team.
- Build and maintain key relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders, to contribute to the success and reputation of the ELA and the ELA brand.
Qualifications
Your skills and experience:
It is essential for you to hold:
- Tertiary degree in an appropriate discipline (Level 7).
- Previous experience in a student-facing managerial role within a university or educational setting.
- Familiarity with the Tertiary and International Learners Code of Practice.
- Proven ability to develop and lead a high-performing team.
- Client-focused with a passion for customer service.
- Results-oriented with a focus on high-quality systems.
- Excellent financial, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Strong Health & Safety ethic and awareness.
- Empathy and understanding of the unique challenges faced by international students.
