Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Operator on our sub-assembly line on our graveyard shift, where you’ll be responsible for operating machinery to cut and bend sheet steel or aluminium into designed shapes prior to assembly in the manufacture of air conditioners.

Hours of work are: 11:15pm - 6:45am

Reporting to the Sub-Assembly Line Foreman, this busy, hands-on role includes the following tasks:

• Set up and monitor machines according to guidelines
• Make necessary adjustments and recover from breakdowns
• Select jobs and identify drawings, cross-checking with programs
• Form work queues and load raw materials using a forklift
• Transport finished products to the next operation using a forklift or hoist
• Measure dimensions, angles, and rotations, making adjustments as needed
• Change tooling and identify correct drawings
• Understand and comply with safety and environmental policies
• Report and resolve safety issues, contributing to improved practices

Qualifications

You will have experience and skillsets in the following:

• Bending, punching and shearing of sheet metal
• Metal folding
• Machine Operation with Safe Work Practices
• CNC programming and Setting
• Attention to detail + Mechanical aptitude
