Our Team
We are looking for a part time EH&S Advisor and Facilities Supervisor to join our team in one of our UK offices in Poole or Stoke. (3-5 days per week initially, with the option to reduce after a 4-6 month period of induction and comfort with the Safety Management Systems)
Remote candidates residing between Stoke and Poole will be considered, provided they are willing to travel to our offices on a regular basis (every other week initially) however preference may be given to local candidates.
What You Will Do
• Work with a fun and diverse global team of HSE professionals to support your personal and professional development.
• Ensure the company environmental, health and safety policy is implemented consistently across the business and promote global HSE strategic initiatives at UK sites.
• Take the lead on all facilities-related initiatives Including but not limited to; utilities management, security management and be the first point of contact for our landlords/property management companies.
• Identify training gaps, and work with the global team to develop and deliver employee HSE training needs.
• Be the go-to subject matter expert on HSE concerns for our UK-based employees.
• Develop relationships with Operations Managers, Schedulers and Property Managers to ensure Koch meets its UK HSE compliance obligations:
o Perform Fire Risk Assessments
o Review Task Risk Assessments for Field Personnel
o Maintain Training Records
o Maintain Facility Inspection Records
o Ensure Electrical/Lighting tests are conducted on time.
o Maintain a list of trained first aiders
• Take a customer-service approach by consulting employees through the Health and Safety committee process
• Assist line managers in implementing health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), in a consistent and effective manner.
• Investigate or, where appropriate, assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take the necessary steps to prevent a recurrence including keeping written records of the investigation and action taken.
• Support the maintenance of the EHS Management System and the ISO 45001:2018 on-site
• Access professional support and guidance from other relevant organisations both internally within the Group and via external sources as necessary, and share information.
• Contribute to the development of a respectful and mutually supportive working environment.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
• NEBOSH Diploma / NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate (or working towards)
• Excellent working knowledge of U.K. Health and Safety legislation
• Experience Administering Training Materials (In-person and computer-based)
• Proactive communication and involvement with other business units to ensure safety communication is at the forefront of personal and organizational accountability.
What Will Put You Ahead
• Experience of working with ISO14001, ISO45001 / HSG 65 standards.
• ISO Internal Auditor Training (ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 9001:2015).
• IEMA Certificate or equivalent
• NEBOSH Fire Risk Management Certificate
