We're on the lookout for professional Class 5 drivers to fill a number of seasonal positions on our Potato and Corn harvest crews in Ashburton.

Job Description

Potato Truck Drivers - operating modern, well-maintained tractor units towing v-bin potato trailers between paddocks around mid-Canterbury and our factory. Predominantly dayshift positions working 5 - 6 days a week. Nightshift role potentially also available 5 nights a week.   Starting early/mid March for 10 weeks approximately.

Corn Truck Drivers - operating our modern 58 tonne HPMV truck and trailer unit transporting corn containers from paddocks around mid-Canterbury to our factory. Dayshift position on a 4 on, 4 off roster. Days off could be filled with casual driving on our potato operation as required.   Starting beginning of March for 8 weeks approximately.

There may be opportunities for further work over carrot harvest.

Qualifications

For this role, you’ll need:

  • A full Class 5 license
  • To have experience hooking and unhooking semi-trailers and pull trailers
  • To be punctual, reliable and responsible
  • To be tidy, organised and well presented
  • To be able to work unsupervised and complete duties on time
  • To understand the demands and variations that a seasonal role can encounter
