Night Shift Supervisor

Job Description

• Review manifests with day shift dispatchers to confirm instructions.
• Handover with day and night shift supervisors to address issues and requirements.
• Monitor departures for timeliness and compliance (weight, maintenance, safety).
• Record unit weights and oversee outbound Line Haul/DC loading.
• Track and communicate Line Haul and NS unit movements, including ferry updates.
• Notify depots, management, and Customer Services of delays or damages.
• Log incidents in our H&S System and report defects to the Operations Manager.
• Submit Line Haul stock take and ensure accurate manifests/load plans.
• Conduct yard checks and approve drivers’ timesheets.
• Ensure temperature monitoring is completed.
• Report failures/issues to Transport and Operations Managers.
• Support overnight drivers and address maintenance concerns.
• Complete missed sailing reports and participate in team meetings.
• Promote safety, uphold values, and deliver excellent service.

Qualifications

• NCEA level 3, and/or relevant tertiary certificate/diploma
• Minimum of 1-2 years previous experience in a similar role within a warehousing, distribution or transport environment
• A class 5 license is advantageous
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Outlook and Excel.  96% accuracy and speed, User knowledge of legacy systems.
