Job Description

About the role

We are looking for a Wharf 2IC to join the team at our Nelson site.

Reporting to the Wharf Manager, you will assist with all wharf operations, including loading and unloading of vessels, grading and weighing of product, and management of staff.

As Wharf 2IC, you will be responsible for:

• Actively assisting the Wharf Manager to ensure all plans are executed
• Participating in the planning and organising of vessel unloads
• Assisting with all procedures related to grading and weighing of product
• Establishing, observing, and complying with safe work practices and equipment
• Filling in for the Wharf Manager as and when required

Qualifications

For this role, you’ll need:

• Proven experience at a supervisory or management level
• Forklift (F) endorsement
• Class 2 drivers license 
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage others
