Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
As Advisor – Programme Controls you will provide programme controls to support the effective delivery of our Emergency Works (EW) activities across New Zealand, as well as supporting the national State Highway maintenance and operations programme. You will advance the use of the financial processes and tools within our Maintenance and Operations team to ensure good practice financial processes and reporting and tracking of programme delivery performance. You will also ensure that quality information is provided to support effective management and governance.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
- Evidence of advanced expertise working in a PMO, or project delivery environment of comparable size and complexity.
- Proficiency and a dedicated focus on project controls – cost management, risk management, reporting and scheduling.
- The ability to build and maintain sound and productive relationships with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience in using relevant systems in a PMO environment ideally with PlanView, SAP, TIO or relevant financial experience.
- Successful identification and management of risks and trends which has ensured these were managed before they materialised.
In addition, you will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
