He angitūtanga: The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Community Programme Specialist to join our dedicated Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Community Delivery team. This role provides leadership and subject matter expertise in the development and delivery of highly engaging and impactful programmes of activities and experiences.
This full-time 40-hour position, working generally Monday to Friday with the occasional requirement to outside of normal business hours and rostered Saturdays based on the programming needs. This role is based at Ōtāhuhu -Toia Library, with the ability to work across the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board area.
Among others, your day-to-day duties will be to:
- Respond to the needs and priorities of the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu local board and community by creating powerful programme opportunities.
- Engage key audiences in this local board area and drive high-levels of participation and recommendation.
- Empower and enable our diverse community by building networks and creating opportunities & partnerships.
- Identifying and investing in smart and innovative approaches and working alongside programme partners
He kōrero mōu: About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is inspired and excited about working with our diverse Māngere-Ōtāhuhu community. You will have previous experience in leading and successfully delivering community-based initiatives along with in-depth knowledge of programme planning & project management methodologies. Strong communication and relationship building skills are a must as well as an ability to foster community engagement.
You’ll also understand the importance of relationships with Māori in Tāmaki Makaurau and are committed to the recognition of te ao Māori in this role. Ideally you can pronounce and use basic te reo Māori in emails, meetings and conversations.
