Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Chapter Lead Engineer in our Wholesale Enterprise domain you’ll play a key role in helping to enable business and technology services. This role is responsible for leading a chapter of engineers by guiding them on "how" to work and their professional development. They are responsible for developing mastery of capability in their chapter.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like
As a Chapter Lead Engineer, you will:
- be responsible for leading a chapter of Engineers by guiding them on "how" to work and their professional development. They are also responsible for developing mastery of capability in their chapter.
- be responsible for the overall career development of their chapter members and hold people management responsibilities.
- take a holistic interest in supporting their chapter members, and are accountable for building world class capability in their chapter (i.e. soft and non-technical skills and capabilities, as well as sharing their technical expertise and domain knowledge).
- continue to be accountable for performance discussions, approving leave arrangements, holding regular check-ins with their people and taking the lead in recruitment, on boarding and off boarding activities.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Knowledge and capability of working with Legacy Mainframe applications – 5 years + where technology is moving towards more advanced tech
- PL1 language experience would be helpful, however not a requirement for the role
- Banking and Institutional experience highly preferred
- Any experience working in an Agile Environment is beneficial
- 5 years Mentoring and Leading capability at a Senior or Lead Level
- Good working experience with Senior Stakeholders to understand their requirements and build/assist with their feature deliveries where required
