About the Role

 

A permanent, part-time opportunity to join the Associate Charge Nurse Manager team in our Medical Ward, Southland Hospital has become available. This is an exciting position for an exceptional senior nurse looking to take the next step in their nursing career.  This role will see you providing operational management, and day-to-day clinical leadership across the ward. 

 

Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager, and strongly supported by a tight knit team, you’ll foster a culture within the unit that continues to strive for excellence in clinical services and focuses on patient centred care.  Key accountabilities of this role include strategic leadership, staff education, development and recruitment, financial management, production planning, report writing and quality & risk management.

 

Operationally, you will turn your hand to supervision, mentoring, and developing relationships through close liaison with other services, both internal and external.

About you

We are looking for a Senior Registered Nurse with significant experience who has a current APC.

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of, and experience in, clinical quality, safety, and best practice.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth 
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO/ Te Whatu Ora CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the Designated Senior Nurse Pay Scale, between $116,040 and $127,674 p.a pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
