Job Description
What you’ll be doing
Sitting within the Waitaki Trades team based at the Ōhau Power Stations, you’ll be working across Meridian’s local Hydro generation stations. This team focuses on executing scheduled maintenance works and assisting with projects on-site to ensure the continued reliability of our hydro generation assets. As an Electrical Fitter, you'll be responsible for responding to faults and emergencies, and undertaking maintenance projects when required.
You'll be on the front line of our maintenance delivery and fault response capability, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical equipment, effectively investigating and resolving faults and using your skills to ensure all work is undertaken safely, accurately, and on time.
Although the role's focus will predominantly be on site in the Upper and Mid Waitaki areas, Meridian is a NZ-wide operation and there may be the requirement of short periods of travel to suit the operational needs of the business.
What you’ll bring
- Trade or Advanced Trade Cert in Electrical Trades
- Experience in heavy rotating plant maintenance
- Experience in fault-finding control systems
- Sound knowledge of reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings
- Current Driver’s License
- Demonstrated commitment to Health & Safety practices.
- Experience in Hydro generation is a bonus but not essential!
