We are looking for an experienced Water Service Technician to join our Utilities Division based in Gisborne. In this role you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of water reticulation networks, on a reactive and scheduled basis, to contract specifications. This will involve a wide range of activities such as the installation of new water mains and connections and repairing leaking water mains.

In addition to the above you will:

• Undertake pipe installations installation and maintenance using small and large plant equipment

• Pressure testing and sterilising of new mains before connection to existing networks

• Repairing meter connections or replacing meters when required and servicing all valves and hydrants

We’re looking for someone with:

• Class 1 Full Drivers Licence, Class 2 and WTR is preferred

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role

• Certificate in Water/Wastewater Treatment and Reticulation Maintenance is advantageous

• Understands principals and technology of water/wastewater treatment and reticulation

• Experience with PE pipe works (pipe welding) is an advantage

• Experience working within 3 waters maintenance

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Self-motivation and friendly team player

• A commitment to your safety and the safety of others
