Are you an experienced Paramedic, passionate about training and developing new staff into the ambulance profession?

We have an opportunity in Nelson, within the Tasman district to join the Clinical Support team to assist in course delivery. This includes but is not limited to First Responder training, NZ Diploma in Ambulance Practice, CCE and other clinical deliverables.

This is a permanent role that requires travel, working 42 hours average Monday to Sunday.  

  • To enable clinical excellence by working with Hato Hone St John personnel to develop good clinical practice
  • The delivery of high-quality education, in line with the curriculum defined by, and provided by, Hato Hone St John
  • Developing individual learning plans that provide support to enable Hato Hone St John personnel to meet required competencies
  • To provide constructive, honest and accurate feedback to Operational members to improve their clinical competence and patient outcomes

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Hold an ATP of Paramedic
  • Hold a current practising certificate with Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council
  • Possess excellent clinical knowledge
  • Have well developed communication and people skills
  • Can develop the clinical ability of others
  • Have a strong team focus
  • Have the flexibility for regular travel
  • Ideally have experience in teaching or precepting
  • Reside in or be willing to move to Nelson or its surrounding areas.
  • Other locations in Tasman may be considered for the right candidate. 

Experience in teaching or precepting is an advantage. Similarly, qualifications in adult education and assessment (including unit standard 4098) are desired but not essential. We will encourage and support the successful applicant in attaining the necessary qualifications.
