Job Description
SGS ECL has an exciting opportunity available for a Project Manager to join our team in New Plymouth.
You will play a key role in ensuring that assigned projects are delivered on time, to budget and to scope. In addition, you will support the Senior Leadership Team with continuous improvement of the function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage project delivery, including planning, design, execution, procurement, and compliance, adhering to agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement problem-solving strategies to ensure project success.
- Oversee budget requirements and expenditure, managing variations in project scope as needed.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Ensure quality assurance processes are followed and manage risk at the project level.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams, clients, contractors, and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other SGS project leaders and identify opportunities for additional services within existing projects or with current clients.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will bring the following:
- Degree in a technical or engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Software, Computer Science. Experience in lieu of qualifications will also be considered.
- Recognised qualification in Project Management.
- Experience delivering projects in industrial sectors both from the client and contractor side.
- Strong track record of using design and project execution methodologies and organisational processes in achieving efficient outcomes with strong skills in managing risks and implementing lessons learnt.
- Strong technical understanding of project management strategies and techniques
- High level technical understanding of SGS team specialisations (systems engineering, industrial safety, OT cybersecurity)
- The ability to motivate an internal team to deliver projects on time, to budget, and at a high standard in a customer centric environment.
