Job Description

Be at the forefront of our climate journey by shaping and executing strategies that ensure a more sustainable and resilient future for our business. You will lead the charge in creating innovative solutions to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain while identifying risks and opportunities that position us as a leader in sustainability.

 

As our Climate Change Manager, you will be instrumental in monitoring and responding to emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and public policies. Your insights will steer our approach, and your participation in influential stakeholder forums will amplify our voice in the industry. Together, we will drive continuous improvement, embedding sustainability at the core of our business strategy. 

Your expertise in GHG emissions accounting will ensure accurate tracking and transparent reporting, supporting compliance with mandatory disclosures such as Climate-related Disclosures and our Annual Report. You will collaborate across the business to ensure ESG data is collected and communicated effectively, working closely with external assurance providers to maintain credibility and trust.

 

Leadership and collaboration are central to this role. You will cultivate strong relationships across teams and with external stakeholders, championing our ESG goals and mentoring team members to develop their potential. With a clear focus on effective budget management, you will ensure resources are allocated to maximise impact and return on investment, driving meaningful progress in our sustainability efforts.

Qualifications

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Climate strategy and mitigation: You bring proven experience in crafting and delivering climate strategies and actionable roadmaps.
  • GHG accounting expertise: You excel in tracking, analysing, and reporting emissions across all scopes, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Data management and reporting: Comfortable with complex datasets, you can translate sustainability metrics into impactful insights for stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder engagement: You have a talent for building trust and managing relationships with senior leaders, assurance providers, and industry bodies.
  • Communication:  Clear and persuasive, you foster collaboration and inspire action.
  • Collaboration:  A natural team player, you unite diverse talents to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Commercial acumen: With a strong grasp of business fundamentals, you balance sustainability with commercial priorities.
  • Conscious leadership: Empathetic and decisive, you navigate challenges with integrity and adaptability.
  • Critical thinking: Analytical and insightful, you make informed decisions that drive positive outcomes.
  • Continuous improvement: Open-minded and innovative, you are always seeking ways to elevate our sustainability practices.

Desirable Experience:

  • Retail/FMCG experience: You have a background in sustainability within a retail or FMCG context.
  • Supplier collaboration: Experience in Scope 3 supply chain decarbonisation initiatives and supplier engagement sets you apart.
  • People leadership: You are a mentor and motivator, fostering growth in others.
