Job Description

With the current incumbent relocating overseas, we have a key gap in our Business Advisory team.  Our Finance Business Partners are the proactive link between finance and the wider business, ensuring commercial thinking feeds into our strategic business decisions. 

Reporting into a Head of Business Advisory, you will support and influence senior business leaders in the Technology functions with your sound commercial advice - which may involve a variety of strategic, operational, people, commercial or financial elements. Advice will derive from high quality analysis and modelling of problems and business cases, discovering options for solutions, and understanding broader strategic alignment and trade off issues.  There is scope to identify process improvements to make reporting, budgeting and forecasting more efficient and drive business value.  Capital expenditure investment, budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and ultimately driving value will form key components of your role.   

Technology has significant focus with a large operating budget and lots of projects on the go, so this is a true business partner position, with a seat at the Technology Leadership team.

Qualifications

You will bring objectivity and strategic acumen to business issues, whilst also being comfortable to dive into the detail when needed.  You understand the value of building relationships, whilst also being an influencer, challenging the business to ensure the best quality decisions are made. We need someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck into the doing while being able to see the big picture and connect technology systems with operational requirements.   

Our wish list includes:

• Proven Finance Business Partner or Commercial Advisor experience in a large or complex organisation (a Technology background is highly desirable) 
• Commercially astute and strategic - you have a knack for cutting through complexity 
• Pragmatic work style 
• Strong analytical abilities, coupled with financial modelling skills 
• Excellent Communication and Relationship management - building, maintaining, and developing relationships by influencing, educating, challenging, and collaborating with internal stakeholders  
• Demonstrate a systems-thinking based approach, understanding the interconnectedness of complex business situations
• Able to communicate technical and financial information in a clear manner to non-technical stakeholders.
