BLT Dispatcher

About your role

In this Bulk Liquid Dispatcher role, you will be responsible for supporting the dispatch team scheduling the Bulk Liquid Transport (BLT) fleet and its contractors efficiently and at the most effective cost to Ixom while meeting all legal and SH&E standards to ensure customer requirements for product are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all BLT requirements align with procedures by collaborating closely with Account Managers. This includes verifying tank specifications, safety protocols, and compliance with regulations.
• Support the process by ensuring drivers complete non-compliance forms accurately and promptly. Address urgent non-compliance issues immediately and coordinate with the BLT Scheduler for follow-up actions.
• Report all BLT-related incidents to management and log them in the SH&E incident management database promptly to help in tracking and addressing safety and health issues effectively.
• Continuously work on improving and controlling Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure the safety of all personnel involved in BLT operations.
• Adhere to Ixom’s fatigue management process to ensure that all staff, especially drivers, are well-rested and fit for duty, reducing the risk of accidents.
• Provide backup support for dispatching the BLT fleet according to the schedule to ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries.
• Measure and record urgent deliveries, implementing follow-up procedures to minimize their occurrence to streamline operations and reduce the need for urgent deliveries.
• Ensure that operational and accommodation costs are maintained within BLT guidelines. This involves monitoring expenses and finding ways to optimize costs without compromising safety or efficiency.

Who are we looking for?

• Experience in Dispatching/ Fleet Scheduling
• Experience with SAP is desirable but not essential
• Flexible, Team Player with ability to work autonomously
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate computer skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good organizational skills and time management skills
