We’re on the hunt for a Lead Camera TD who’s as passionate as we are about delivering top-tier, pixel-accurate 3D camera and object track solutions for feature films and episodic series! -For our exciting upcoming projects, we’re focusing on reviewing applications from New Zealand and Australia. This position offers a fantastic 12-month contract opportunity!-

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Create accurate 3D camera and object solutions using specifications like focal length, lens distortion, and rolling shutter, ensuring cinematic quality and technical precision.
• Understanding of anamorphic lenses to create undistorting and re-distorting of plates for a smooth VFX integration.
• Partner with VFX Supervisors, Compositing Leads, and 3D Leads to achieve creative storytelling through camera movement and composition.
• Solve, optimize and integrate Lidar and photogrammetry data into the VFX pipeline, and collaborate with the Pipeline Team to develop and maintain efficient camera workflows and tools.
• Address technical issues related to cameras and layouts, ensuring smooth pipeline integration and problem resolution.
• Provide clear updates to production teams on progress, challenges, and solutions while ensuring continuity across sequences.
• Resolve creative and technical challenges, maintaining alignment with deadlines and technical specifications.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• ⁠5+ years in the VFX industry with a strong focus on camera work and layout with a proven track record on high-profile feature films and episodic projects.
• Expertise in tools like 3DEqualizer, Maya, PFTrack, Nuke, and Unreal, with a solid grasp of cinematic principles like composition, lensing, and camera movement - Knowledge of Python or MEL scripting is a plus.
• Strong storytelling and visual design skills, with the ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into cinematic sequences.
• Exceptional communication skills to convey technical and creative ideas.
• Effective time management and prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines and adapt to shifting project priorities.
• Additional CG skills like layout, lighting, or asset work would be a huge bonus and are definitely preferred.
