We need a switched on Maintenance Operator to join the Fulton Hogan team in Stewart Island.

In this role, you’ll see yourself assisting in the day to day routine and minor maintenance repairs required on Stewart Island Foveaux network.  These include (but may not be limited to) signs installations and inspections, potholes, depressions, edge break, sweeping, marker pegs, roadside rubbish, township and roadside spraying, culvert cleaning and inspections.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Minimum full Class 2 Drivers License
• Experience with road maintenance or minor construction is preferred
• Minor building / “handy man” experience
• Competent with using and repairing small tools and plant e.g. chainsaws, plate compactors
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work within a small team environment
• Able to work unsupervised as and when required
• Use initiative and look for improvements
• Strong safety and quality focus
• Have a can-do attitude
