This is a full time position of 40 hours per week

The remuneration range for this role is $115,635 to $163,250 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience

The opportunity

As the Design Lead you will provide leadership to Wellington Water’s design teams. You will lead the team’s programme design and delivery work by managing your team effectively to meet business needs and programme. You will be performing as a highly effective and engaged consultant in 3 Waters projects, whilst enjoying a work life balance. 

You will get to:

  • Provide high quality people leadership
  • Ensure best practice and quality technical advice 
  • Ensure project and programme delivery including management of resourcing 
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships 
  • Prepare financial budgets and risk reporting

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • 10+ years post qualification experience in delivery and/or design in infrastructure, engineering or a similar industry is highly desired 
  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Engineering (preferably civil or environmental engineering)
  • Technical knowledge across 3 waters engineering
  • Proven experience of working in a collective and collaborative leadership environment
  • Excellent people leadership and project delivery skills
  • Chartered Professional Engineer preferred
