We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the growth of our subscription base through ensuring customers access the full advantages of the product, managing and growing client relationships, and driving revenue growth.

You will work in close coordination with other internal stakeholders, such as Client Service Representatives, Customer Support Representatives & Finance, to provide the optimal customer experience for new and existing subscribers, offering a level of customer service which ensures satisfaction and subscription renewal.

The value-add things you’ll be doing

Client Onboarding

  • Ensure our new clients experience a seamless onboarding process from the online shopping cart, providing training via Teams where necessary.
  • Updating CRM with accurate company and user information, reconfirm the plan best matching the client needs and ensure maximum value is provided to each new client by way of the best possible profiles, resulting in the most relevant tender notifications to their specific business.
  • Recognise and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Provide a smooth transition from subscription activation to on-going customer support and renewal.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement strategic account plans to drive growth and maximise client value.
  • Answer incoming customer phone calls and email queries from customers.
  • Contact clients who have failed to make payment for their subscription.
  • Analyse customer feedback and contribute suggestions for improving customer facing processes and product development.
  • Making outbound calls to existing clients regarding customer experience, new products and/or services.
  • Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities within your account portfolio.

Client Retention

  • Meeting and exceeding sales revenue / client retention targets.
  • Manage and nurture existing client relationships to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Proactively engage with your clients via phone and email using the insights and data available to you to enhance the client experience and reduce churn.
  • Document all customer feedback and report weekly to the leader on trends, challenges, and results.
  • Identify and address, either directly or indirectly, any issues our subscribers have which may cause them to cancel their subscription with us.
  • Overcome and negotiate any customer objections during the renewal period and with clients who communicate their decision to cancel their subscription.

 

Qualifications

The experience and qualifications you’ll need to be successful

  • Proven track record in account management or sales, in a similar role or relevant industry.
  • Track record of new business development and customer growth.
  • Strong focus on client engagement, interaction, and appetite for client satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing excellent customer service in a client facing role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to respond productively to changing requirements characterised by peak periods and a variety of tasks where attention may be divided, and immediate decisions are required.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and conversant with Microsoft Office applications.
