This is an exciting senior level opportunity for an experienced candidate to utilise their range of leadership, stakeholder skills and deposit takers sector expertise to deliver high quality supervision of the New Zealand deposit takers sector.
Te tūranga – The role
In this role you will regularly lead engagements with regulated entities at the senior management level, while also fully participating in, or leading, executive and board level meetings.
You will assist in creating a collaborative and productive relationship between regulated entities and the Reserve Bank, to ensure positive outcomes in line with the wider regulatory strategy
This role is instrumental in the execution of Te Pūtea Matua’s supervisory engagement with licenced deposit takers and includes monitoring, analysis and relationship management to ensure regulatory requirements are being met.
Additionally, you will also:
- Provide strong technical leadership and guidance, mentoring and support to colleagues within your team
- Contribute to internal governance committees and Reserve Bank policy development
- Manage and maintain effective working relationships with deposit-takers.

Could you bring some of the following to the role?
- Relevant professional experience in the fields of banking, insurance, financial markets, law, accounting, macroeconomics, economics, or other central banks.
- A Tertiary qualification.
- A detailed understanding of the New Zealand financial system, and the interactions between the economy, financial system and prudential regulation -or a desire to build this.
- Proven capacity to manage the development and implementation of strategies, actions and projects.
- Sound judgement and the ability to think holistically across a broad range of issues.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and conceptual skills with an ability to draw reasonable conclusions and recommend appropriate action in response to complex problems.

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $149,675 to $162,148 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
