Senior Credit Controller

As DB’s Senior Credit Controller, you'll be at the forefront of managing the credit process for Trade and Export Customers across NZ and AU. Your role will involve driving the consistent application of credit policies, assessing new customers, and conducting regular reviews to ensure smooth operations. You'll also take charge of negotiating settlements for overdue payments and supporting the recovery of bad debts, making a real impact on the financial health of the business.

 

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assess customer creditworthiness, recommend credit limits, classify customer risk, and formalise payment terms and methods.
  • Take ownership of trade and loan debts, ensure timely collection, negotiate with customers, and work with internal teams to achieve optimal debt recovery.
  • Recommend provisions for bad/ doubtful debts, prepare write-off submissions, and deliver regular debt position reports to management.
  • Build professional relationships and provide excellent support to both internal and external customers, ensuring a focus on exceptional service.
  • Drive ongoing improvements in financial processes and documentation for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.

 

 

Your background and experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control processes and credit-related laws.
  • Proven customer negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Experience with SAP BW is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A true team player, adaptable to change, and proactive in driving improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of English.
  • Must have full-time work rights in New Zealand.
