What you’ll be doing 

This role will be part of the project leadership team for the project as a technical lead across the end-to-end solution with a focus on the OT aspects.   The key to the role is to ensure the technical solution is consistent and supports future business needs. Alignment with (and influence of) the ICT-related aspects of the project is required.

This includes supporting the design process across the application, integrations, infrastructure and security. It’s important to note that this role has no direct people leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate for this role will be based in either Wellington or Christchurch. Travel to our sites will be a key requirement of this role.

What you’ll bring 

• Technical leadership experience, including from early design through to operational support of solutions.
• Proven experience working in a distributed project of significant scale including onshore sites and with an offshore vendor.
• Experience in designing and delivering technical solutions to align with stakeholder requirements (i.e. prototyping, workshops etc..)
• Experience working in the electricity industry would be advantageous with a strong knowledge of SCADA systems, RTUs, PLCs, and other OT devices. .
• Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and protocols related to OT communication.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Technology or related field.
• Proven ability to clearly communicate solution architecture designs to a business audience (i.e. translate technical to business speak and vice versa);
• Experience and understanding of IT architectural design methodologies, governance and management processes
