This is a remote position based in Australia or New Zealand. With a sufficient timezone overlap with the team, we're able to hire eligible candidates for this role from any location in Australia and New Zealand.
Your future team
The Atlassian Design System enables software makers to craft quality interfaces at scale, creating intuitive, beautiful and harmonious experiences from our self-service guidelines. Our design language allows our customers to use a familiar interface across every Atlassian product.
The Atlassian Design System team is a remote-friendly team of developers, designers, content designers and product managers.
As the Content Designer, you will report to the Design Manager. You are a passionate writer with experience creating user-centric guidelines and documentation. You'll collaborate with designers and engineers to document the Atlassian Design System in a way that is easy for consumers of the system to find and use.
Responsibilities
Help deliver our roadmap by partnering with engineers, product managers and other designers to evolve and document the Atlassian Design System.
Create solutions that meet our goals of self-service adoption.
Use your understanding of design systems to guide team's implementation of UI Foundations, Components and Patterns.
Co-create and lead the integration of user-centric design and content principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
Identify and act upon opportunities to improve our content, processes, and overall user experience.
Qualifications
2+ years of Content Design experience, specifically creating guidelines and documentation, and understanding of Design System theory.
You have experience in user-centric content design processes, including conducting user research.
You can show a portfolio that includes UX and technical writing samples, workflows, content templates, style guides, or standards for different content types.
You have experience publishing and managing content using content management systems and other technical means such as website code.
You build strong working relationships with cross-functional coworkers.
You can tell a story and tailor your narrative to relevant audiences.
