Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world. And right now, we’re looking for part-time Learn to Swim Instructors to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!
Based at Takapuna Pool and Leisure Centre, this is a fantastic job where you can gain a formal qualification teaching people the basic principles of how to swim, maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors - we'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.
These are two permanent part-time positions and we would love to hear from those who can work 6 hours per week.
- 6 hours: Monday and Thursday (15:15PM – 19:00PM), and Tuesday (15:15PM – 19:15PM)
- 6 hours: Wednesday and Friday (15:15PM – 19:00PM), and Saturday (8:15AM – 13:00PM)
Pplease note that you will be required to attend training.

You are a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and can communicate well with members of the public. Just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference.
If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training. You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.

Pay rate: $27.80 /hr
