Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager (titled as Lead, Projects ), you will effectively spearhead the strategy, planning, and execution of large and complex initiatives. This includes leading project teams, applying IAG’s Delivery Approach, and enhancing delivery capabilities to ensure successful implementation.
As a Senior PM you will be managing multiple work streams on a multi-year transformation program including re-platforming core systems and handling both technology and business program workstreams.
In this role, some of the key responsibilities include: -
- Ensure successful project delivery by applying strong project management practices, including scope management, reporting, governance, planning, and cost/benefit analysis, while embedding these practices within the team.
- Set the standard for collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and executives to identify problems, explore opportunities, design solutions, test assumptions, and implement large initiatives.
- Build strong, senior level stakeholder relationships and trust across IAG to ensure initiatives deliver practical, customer focussed, commercially sound and well-informed solutions
- Show significant leadership in driving delivery culture and build delivery capability across IAG, and demonstrate an uplift in delivery capability
This is a full time, permanent role that is open to people based anywhere in New Zealand ideally Auckland.
This role offers flexible working conditions that support a mix of working from home and being in the office for minimum of two days.

We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences: -
- Proven extensive experience in program management, project management, business analysis, or change management.
- More than 15 years of successfully managing business improvements and changes in complex settings.
- Experience using Agile methods in challenging delivery environments.
- Skilled in implementing new working methods and enhancing team capabilities.
- Proven track record of delivering valuable solutions for customers and the business in fast-paced environments.
- Strong background in cost management, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Excellent at managing and engaging stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of program management tools and methodologies, with practical application experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of IAG, including with executives and senior managers.
- Able to work well in uncertain situations and navigate complexities to meet goals.
- Tertiary qualified.
